See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Talk No Evil

Today it was a cheeky day for me when mommy was playing with me, making me imitating the three wise monkeys See No Evil, Hear No Evil and Speak No Evil (Mizaru, Mikazaru and Mazaru) which the idea behind the proverb was part of the teaching of god Vadjra, that if we do not hear, see or talk evil, we ourselves shall be spared all evil and this is also reflected in the English proverb "Speak Of The Devil" - and the devil appears. No one really knows the origin of this proverb but theories shows that it originted from Nikko, Japan in the 17th century. You can read more from wikipedia.org.

Also I got a photo of my foot..... don't they look huge....

Daddy also found out from granny that my last four digit in my birth cert was a winning number in Magnum 4D as a consolation prize. Unfortunately daddy never buys number. Guess what's the number?

Below are some photos taken today.

Its Sunday again.... got more visitor today, Grand Uncle Andy, Auntie Ann Gee and Uncle Andrew. But slept most of the time when I was with them. Anyway today daddy bought a new latex mattress for my playpen which was bought my granpa and granny a couple of days back but as usual daddy only knows to buy what is needed and this time he forgot to buy a bed spead for the new mattress and more bottles (click here to see the animation for Dr. Brown bottles) . Guess daddy will have to make another trip in the next few days to get a new bedspread. Daddy also got a book about Baby & Child.

Sat-Ur-Day

Today daddy measured me again, I am now 56cm long which is 10cm longer from the day I was born. Not sure if this is normal, fast or slow, but many people that visited me tells me that I have longs fingers so I would be quite tall when I grow up. I am not sure about this but you can click this here to predict your height! or have a look at this growth chart.

Today Auntie Liu Yun visited me after she returned from Shanghai after 2 weeks there. She left for Shanghai just days before I was born. Also came today is Por Por Jenny and Gong Gong Patrick as you can see the photo below, Popo Jenny holding me. Some of the photos taken today.

Brief Summary Of My Name

Just found something interesting about my name from this site, Kalabarian Philosophy, it says,

"Your name of Aeryn makes you very idealistic and generous, with the strong desire to uplift humanity leading you into situations where you can express your desire to serve others. You want to assume responsibilities and to look after people; however, you can become too involved in other people's problems and tend to worry. Your name gives you a natural desire to express along artistic and musical lines. You desire a settled home and family life, and are expressive and attentive to your loved ones."

What is written about my name sounds really pretty and nice but this is just something we get from website all the time. Today daddy also found a little article from Anmum website on what can and cannot eat during mommy's one month confinement period, very interesting if you are from this part of the world. My Name In Thai

Today marks the second week since the day I was born.... Hooray....

Anyway this is how my name is written in Thai "เชา เอรีน" as Chow Ae-Ryn in direct translation. Mommy is still thinking of a thai name for me since daddy did not agree to the names that were suggested by mommy such as,
1) Nong Mali - น้องมะลิ
2) Nong Nikki - น้องนิกกี้
3) Nong Ink - น้องอิงค์

Daddy wanted something more thai. Any suggestions, you can send it to aeryn at aerynchow dot com.

This is also curently my prefered baby diaper, Mamy Poko "New Born".

One Side Cleared

Today mommy managed to clear one side of my nose... and daddy also bought some new smaller cotton bud which I hope my other nose will be cleared. Today Toon, our house helper says that I am starting to look a little like daddy. I am not sure which part of me looks like dad as I still think I look more like mommy than daddy. Maybe you judge and tell me if I look more like my mommy or daddy, here you go,

Click here for more photos. In tomorrow's post, you will be able to see how is Chow Ae-Ryn written in Thai.

My Name In Chinese

I finally able to find the chinese character to my name in chinese. It has not been easy as both my mom and dad does not know any chinese at all. Anyway granny found the characters to my Chinese name, is called 'Zhou Xi Ling' (or Chow Hei Ling in Cantonese), in chinese character is written as '周喜羚' and in Hanja (Korean) is 주희영 pronounce as Chu Hŭi Ryŏng (in McCune-Reischauer) / Shoe-He-Yong

The meaning in Chinese -

Today is my first week birthday and I do not have jaundice. My yellowish face could be due to the ginger that my mom is eating and being transfered to me via breastfeeding. I have not got any photos with my granny now but sure once I have them I will post it onto the this site. Below I have also added some photos of me taking bath today,

Am I Naughty

Have I been naughty today? Mommy has been feeling more pain as well as some discharge and I hope it is not time for me to 'pop' out. It has been 2 days since mommy had this sensation of pain and I am not sure it this was cause my daddy action yesterday morning when he stepped on mommy's glasses. Tomorrow mommy will be going to see the doctor and ask more details if this is normal since the book say that it is normal a few days before the contraction starts.

My Name

My name is Chow Ae-Ryn and it means, peace or Daughter of Éire, or a republic consisting of 26 of 32 counties comprising the island of Ireland; achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1921 [syn: Ireland, Eire, Irish Free State]. In some websites Aeryn is a boy's name instead of a girl's name but most of the website says that its a girl. So I really wonder if my name is supposingly a girl's or boy's name. Anyway the following are some of the links to the website for my name,
- babynames.com
- thinkbabynames.com
- all-babynames.com
- 20000-names.com
- answers.com

Here is a short description of my name taken from wikipedia.com -
"Erin is a Hiberno-English derivative of Irish Gaelic Éirinn, the dative case - and also locative case - of Éire, the Irish word for "Ireland". Poets and also nineteenth-century Irish nationalists also used Erin in English as a romantic name for Ireland, as shown in the catchphrase (when speaking of Ireland's experiences with Britain), "Let Erin Remember". According to Irish mythology and folklore, the name was given to the land by the Milesians after the goddess Ériu. Erin Go Bragh (Éirinn Go Brách, in standard orthography), often heard during St. Patrick's Day, means "Ireland Forever". The etymological history of the word as it drifted throughout the Gaelic region gave rise to its use by the early Scots to both mean "Ireland", as well as "West", as Ireland lay to the geographic west of Scotland.
Erin is a popular modern name for both sexes, alternatively spelled as Eryn, Erynn, Eirinn, Aeryn, Eiryne. It also contributed to many surnames, as well, for example "Erin-Vienne" (West Man/Irish Man) gave rise to the surnames of Irving, Irvine, Ervin, Irwin, Eryvine, Ervyne, etc. There are over 200 known derivations of the Erin root."

(This entry is from Wikipedia, the leading user-contributed encyclopedia. It may not have been reviewed by professional editors)

I will try to find a way to put the chinese character of my name here.

This morning daddy gave mommy a shock when daddy accidently steps on mommy's glasses and pushes his hands against me (mommy's tummy). Mommy shouted really loud but daddy thought it was because he stepped on mommy's glasses. Mommy is really worried and I hope that I am alright since I have not move much until later in the day.

My Little Orange Car

This will be my little orange car until I want to start walking. This stroller was bought in Toy City at KLCC. My parent has been shopping for a stroller for quite some time until they decided to get this stroller.

Above are some photos taken at home,

Combi, japanese brand started in the 50s under the name of Sanshin Limited producing health care accessories, apparatus and medical products until the 60s when this company was renamed to Combi producing feeding bottles, potties, juvenile tableware and others. Anyway the reason my parent chose this stroller was because of its lightweight and fold-up size with a weight of just less than 5kg.

This is the latest how my mommy tummy look like with me inside.

Mommy Having Flu

Today mommy is not feeling very well so it was a lazy sunday at home. Mommy and Daddy was suppose to go to IKEA to get the money back when they returned the baby cot yesterday but someone from IKEA called to daddy telling him that they will credit back the money into daddy's credit account and mommy slept most of the day. Granpa was suggesting to get a baby cot from another shop since the price is about the same. I hope I can have my own little bed when I am born.

After dinner, daddy, mommy and granny went to Carrefour in Alamanda to get some supplies and milk powder (Wyeth Mama with DHA) for mommy. Wyeth Mama was introduce to mommy during a pregnancy talk at Britannia and supposingly it also taste much better than Anmum and Enfamama A+.

No More Cot For Me

The IKEA people come over to check the baby cot and they confirm that this is a defected cot due to the lenght of the wood panel. So they took it back without replacing a new cot due oversold. They have also agreed to return cash for the baby cot as well as the home delivery charges. So I am not sure if my parent going to wait for the replacement or buy another baby cot.

What do you think of my friends above, don't they look cute. Hope I will get more. The above elephant and rabbit were bought in IKEA and pillow cat from U-Parkson. Can't wait to get my hands on them.

Something To Cover Me

My parent has been busy getting ready for my arrival, buying cloths, napkins, bottles, diapers, stroller and many others. This blog I am going to show you some of the cloths that my parent bought for me over the past few months.

In the afternoon today, my dad received a phone call from IKEA telling me about the defected cot that they are going to send a new cot to me. Its so funny that my dad received a call a day before saying that they could not replace the cot as it been all sold out. Anyway will see what happens tomorrow when the IKEA guy come over. Hopefully they are not going to take away my cot and tell my parent that the replacement cot will only come later as mention by the lady.

Britannia Hospital

Britannia Women & Children Specialist Centre is where I will be born. My parent initial plan was to deliver me in the states but due to some commitment, my mom was unable to travel there. So my parent started searching for a hospital, the first hospital they went to is Pantai Cheras Hospital, where Dr. Asokan does his delivery, but this hospital doens't seems to be very well maintain. So they started asking around, suggested hospitals are,
1) Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Subang Jaya
2) Glenaegles Medical Centre, Jalan Ampang
3) Chinese Maternity Hospital, Jalan Pudu

All hospitals are not convenient due to the location as well as traffic problem..... Initially my mommy decided to give birth to me at KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital in Kajang but after several comments on the hospital and doctors, my mommy decided to recee Britannia which my mom and dad fell in love to.

Britannia is a 4 storey shoplot located along the SILK Highway (Kajang Ringroad), on the ground floor of the hospital are the consultation rooms, reception and waiting area, on the first floor is the nursery and wards. The second floor is where the delivery rooms and operation theatre are located.

My mommy started coming to Britannia for her regular check-up from my 32nd weeks, by Dr. Tan. Below are my ultrascan photos taken then,

For my 36th weeks scan you will be able to see it here

On the evening today, IKEA called my dad telling him that there might be a problem replacing the baby cot as it has been sold out. The my dad ask them when is the cot going to be available, the lady on the phone said maybe in May!!! No way, I am going to be born without a cot? This cannot happen, I would not be able to sleep on my little own bed. Will see what happens with the IKEA staff comes over on Saturday to check the cot. Hopefully they are able to solve the defect or surprise me with a brand new cot. Click here for more detail of this baby cot.

Tomorrow, I will be posting the cloths that is waiting for me.....

My Other Ultrascan Photos....

I was actually discovered by mommy end of September when daddy visited her in Hat Yai with Uncle Calvin and family. Mommy did a pregnancy test in my granparent's home and "wow" - that's me......

My first ultrascan was done in Hat Yai by Dr. Theravudh, a Gynaecologist-Obstetrician. I was then less than 10cm in lenght...!!!!. This doctor is really funny, I presume he is a Thai Chinese as he always wanted to speak to my dad in Chinese, it was two different creature trying to communicate. I think it was best for them to speak in English. At first, Dr. Theravudh told my parent that I am a boy...

This is the first ultrascan I did in Kuala Lumpur by Dr. Asokan (Klinik Pakar Wanita Connaught), Gynaecologist-Obstetrician, which confirm that I am a girl. How interesting right when you have 2 doctors confirming different gender. Anyway gender mistakes always bound to happen. Bus he wasn't very sure after my parent told him that another doctor say that its a boy, then a question mark was written next to the gender.

This scan was done in Kuala Lumpur with Dr. Asokan as well, this time he confirm that I am a girl. But somehow my parent was still not convinced so they decided to make another trip to Hat Yai to confirm my gender with Dr. Theravudh.

A confirmation scan was done a few days after with Dr. Theravudh and this time both doctors confirm that I am a girl. But now my granny says that I could still be a boy because of old chinese saying that sharp tummy are boy and rounded shape tummy are girls which the chances could be around > 1%

My First Blog

I think I should have done this month before so I could show you the changes in me. This will be my first posting in my blog until time permits. Currently I am due to born on April 26th, 2007, which is less than a month from now.

My last ultrascan was done last week on Thursday (March 29th, 2007), and the doctor says I am growing well. I am currently 2.9kg which is within the growth chart and feeling not very comfortable in my mom's tummy. I think I am getting to large. My mom keeps complaining about me being to big, kicking her all the time.

This is me in 3D,

And me in 2D,

Today my baby cot arrived but sadly it had a manufacturing fault and my parent could not get it up. Anyway, IKEA will be coming this Saturday (April 7th, 2007) to check and hopefully replace a new cot for me.

In the evening, it was so noisy with all those thunder but being good girl, I was not afraid because my mom played 1 hour of classical music.....

Tomorrow, I will post the remaining ultrascan photos....
