Piggy Bank

This morning granndy gave daddy a present for me from Grand Auntie Pearl, a rocking horse piggy bank with some money already in it. So I guess all my lose ang pow will be going into this piggy bank.

It's less than a week now before it's Chinese New Year and I cannot wait for it as I will be collecting my first ang pow.

As for daddy, he hope he will be able to get his Powerbook today from Uncle Alex. Tomorrow will be a public holiday again, Federal Territory Day, so it will be a shopping day again.

Daddy's Office

Today daddy's company had his company's Chinese New Year dinner so me and mommy could go as well. Daddy drove us to his office just after lunch and we stayed in daddy's office until 1900hrs before leaving for dinner.

Since Uncle Calvin and Uncle Stephen wanted to try something different this year, we had "Poon Choi" and "Yee Sang" instead of the normal chinese set course. But it turn out that it wasn't very good since it was it was cooked in one pot and tasted the same for everything, just like grandpa's favourite "Yat Wok Sook" rice. Daddy forgot to bring along the camera again. It would have been interesting to take a photo of this meal which cost RM68.00++ per person.

Mommy also had a bad headache the whole afternoon in daddy's office. I think she could have been in pain but daddy thought it was a normal headache since mommy looks okay. But on the way back, mommy vomited all the way home and continue at home which was actually quite bad. Could it be diarrhoea?

Crawl Crawl

Grandpa and granny was suppose to come home today but they thought of staying another day in Penang, so they will be driving back tomorrow morning.

Mommy now tries to make me crawl a little more as I am suppose to be crawling much more than what I am doing now and actively climbing stairs as well now. So mommy lay a piece of rug on the floor to let me crawl on. But I am too lazy to crawl as I kept stopping and put my hands up as a sign to be carried.

Daddy got back around dinner time and we went out to Tesco to get grocery. Been quite some time since my last my visit here.

No photos were taken today as mommy slept very late last night watching drama and waiting for daddy as well.

Climb Onto The Bed

It was amazing when mommy notice that I would actually climbed up onto the bed by myself without any help even though mommy was afrad that I will might slip and fall. An achievement isn't it.

Daddy also got a new computer since he needed to get new computers for Uncle Mark and Auntie Janice as their computer got stolen. Daddy got himself a new Compaq notebook since he always loved his old Compaq which was also stolen. So far this computer which is pre-installed with Vista Business has been running smoothly without the same problem daddy encounter with the Fujitsu.

Anyway daddy is also planning to get a used Powerbook for his iPod and iPhoto as well as for some home video editing, iMovie.

Grandpa and granny will be back home tomorrow after spending a week in Penang. Daddy also bought airticket on AirAsia to Macau in April.

Burried Or Cremated

This morning when daddy woke up, Toon immediately asked daddy if our neighbour Auntie Lim was leaving for burial which daddy was not sure as well since a normal wake would take a couple of days. So I guess we will have to wait for granny to return before we will actually knows what happen today.

Later in the afternoon, daddy drove us with Toon to Mid Valley since mommy wanted to eat the sushi again at Sushi Zanmai. We left quite early this time since daddy thought to walk around Mid Valley as well this time since it has been a long time since we walk around Mid Valley.

Bad Day

This is a very bad day as daddy's office got broken with 2 sets of computer gone. It started early in the morning when Auntie Emily tried calling daddy but since he was sleeping with me did normally leave the phone on silent so it will not wake me up from early morning calls. Then Auntie Emily called Grandpa's mobile to inform daddy that the office got broken-in.

n the night after we came back from shopping in Pavilion, daddy and mommy was curious why are there so many cars parked outside the house, and daddy thought someone must be having a party, but it turn out that our neighbour, Auntie Lim, feel in the bathroom, knock her head and died. It was realy a shock to daddy as he met Auntie Lim in the morning as he was leaving to check the office.

Woh Woh Woh

While mommy was feeding me porridge outside the house today, I was so amuse when I saw our neighbour dog barking. I actually imitate the bark as well everytime the dog bark. Wish mommy had taken me on video so she could show it to daddy what I did.

I am beginning to imitate everything I see as well, like one-eye blinking but just could not actually do it. But I could actually follow mommy and Toon turning my hand.

In the evening after daddy gone to the bank, he drove me and mommy to Metro Point in Kajang since our neighbour told mommy that there is a kiosk there selling branded kids cloths at a discounted price. We found it and they were selling brands like Gap Kids, Baby Gap, Osh Kosh, Laura Ashley, Gymboree, Carters, Guess Kids and some others, price range from RM13.00 to RM39.00 per piece.

Rabbit Teeth

Mommy and Toon could actually see both of my upper teeth already. It should be coming out very soon. But mommy is afraid that it might be very big and look like two rabbit teeth.

I could also walk upstairs now assisted. Quick amazing isn't it and daddy thinks I am right handed instead of left because I uses my right leg for each steps but not sure if I have made up my mind yet. Mommy also fed me with some prune and apple juice mommy got from Tesco.

Happy Thaipusam "தைப்பூசம்"

"Vel Vel"

It's another public holiday today but previously today was only observed by a few states but a couple of days ago, it was announced that the federal territory will be observing this festival and thaipusam is not a public holiday in the federal territory.

Since it is a public holiday, daddy drove us, me and Toon out to The Gardens at Mid Valley as we wanted to change the Australia guide he bought in Borders. So we only arrived around 1600hrs which initally mommy wanted to leave much earlier. This time we manage to cover almost all the shops in The Gardens and also tried Gurney Drive at The Gardens as well. Daddy had his Char Koay Teow which is nothing to shout about if you really compare with those in Penang, mommy and toon had Assam Laksa which is slightly better than the Char Koay Teow which daddy ordered. The cendol did not taste any better as well. Overall daddy wasn't happy with the food quality.

Mommy also got me a new learning toy from ELC by Leapfrog. Daddy found it much better than the learning phone from Fisher Price. It cost a bit more but I enjoyed this discovery ball much better than the learning phone.

No photo was taken today as daddy left the camera at home again.

Rampitsawad

Daddy and Mommy got so crazy when they stayed up all night watching this TV drama. They finished at around 0500hrs when I actually woke up for milk, must be the noise from the TV which woke me up.

Granny and Grandpa left home around 0930hrs for Penang but they did not arrive in Penang until around 1530hrs because of some road diversion around the turf club for the hindu festival, "Thaipusam" tomorrow. Federal Territory (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya an Labuan Island) has also been declared public holiday so daddy will not have to work tomorrow. Hurray, another day of shopping.

In the evening, mommy and Toon took me out for an evening stroll and stop by at Great Auntie Putih house. They have got a new maid from Cambodia. It was her first day at work but mommy was surprise that she speaks a little chinese and english as well.

Mommy is getting lazy, no photo was taken today.

Bed Edge Phobia

Ever since the fall I had in Bangkok a few weeks ago, I am not afraid of being at the edge of the bed. I was never afraid of sitting or laying at the edge but now, I will make noises and try to get hold of something when I know I am by the edge. Mommy initially told daddy that I now know the danger being at the edge but daddy thought I was trying to get attention.

As for today nothing much really except watching a TV drama which mommy bought in Bangkok the whole afternoon. I think daddy and mommy is going to continue watching tonight. Tomorrow granny and grandpa will be driving to Penang, staying a week to relief Grand Auntie Pearl and Grand Uncle Andy as they are going to Indonesia for golf.

Shopping In The Gardens

Daddy and mommy took me out for shopping today in The Gardens. This is our first time walking around The Gardens since they opened a couple of months back. Well today, mommy got a few things for me, first mommy got a new milk bag for me from LeSportSac in Isetan, since they were having a member's sales and mommy got 40% off for the new bag, a deluxe everyday bag. Then after that mommy also got me a new shoe from Mark and Spencer as they were having sales there as well but not for my shoe. You can see me walking with my new shoe after dinner.

Daddy was suppose to meet up with Auntie Mona to pass her Vietnam guidebook but they did not manage to meet because she went to get her camera fix. Because I dropped my pacifier earlier, mommy had to get a new pacifier for me since I only left with one.

Well daddy also got a new guidebook on Australia since we are planning to visit Uncle David in winter for skiing. Hopefully Uncle Charles would be able to make it as well.

Dinner With Uncle Charles

Daddy initially planned to drive Uncle Charles and his brother, Uncle Albert for a nice seafood dinner in Klang but unfortunately they only got back from playing golf around 1830hrs so daddy decided to have dinner in the city instead since the drive to Klang would take at least one hour.

Daddy then decided to have dinner, Kung Jung, in Pavilion since there are some pubs and bars at the ground floor which would not be too noisy for me. We could also seat by the sidewalk as well and away from smoky outlets as well. Uncle Charles said that he is so ready to have children now so I would have more friends soon. Hope to see you again in June either here or in Australia.

Worried Mommy

Mommy got worried today because after feeding me with the new milk I have not poo poo yet and she thinks it could have been the change of milk. It I still do not poo poo tomorrow mommy is surely going to stop feeding me with the new milk powder.

Today mommy and daddy also took the milk powder the purchased from Tesco and returned it back to them since doctor told mommy that step 2 might cause constipation and it is better to feed me with Step 1 instead of Step 2.

As for daddy, he had an eye infection again, this time on the other eye which just recovered about 2 weeks ago. He looks really funny with one eye swollen.

Neighbour Was Broken In

It was a sad day as our neighbour house was broken in. Grandpa thought it would have been great since the community installed a gate at the back lane and we have not heard of any break-in for some months now.

Mommy suspects the burglar broke-in about 1400hrs since she saw 2 malay/indonesian man walking outside our house a couple of time. Even our neighbour, Auntie Jin, on the other side also notice the weird behavior of these 2 men around the same time. But only around 1700hrs when granny was outside doing gardening over heard our neighbour talking on the mobile saying that the house has been broken into. They broke into the house in the broad daylight and through the front door!

I also started drinking Similac today and it seem like I enjoy it much better than S-26. Mommy says it taste a milky than S-26 but I am not sure if it will help me to increase my milk since doctor says my growth is alright there is no need to change milk powder.

Doctor Say I Am Growing Just Fine

After numerous times of being told by friends and family, that I am small size, the doctor say I am growing just fine. Doctor told daddy and mommy to photocopy the chart and show anyone who ask about my size and tell them I am just fine. My growth is within the chart,

Weight is base on 25%
Height and HC is on the 75% curve

1) Weight - 7.82kg
2) Height - 72.5cm
3) HC - 43.5cm

Which is normal. But mommy did ask the doctor is it would help if I was given a new milk powder since most of the baby were fatter on a different milk power. Doctor says should not change since there is nothing wrong with the current milk powder unless mommy want to turn me into a fat girl, then I would need to drink pre-mature baby milk which is not recommended at all.

Anyway doctor did gave mommy a new tin of Similac (Step One) to try since mommy told doctor that I have a slight constipation.

Other than that I am just fine and getting more cheeky.

Am I A Brat!

Why as babies grows up, they do not like drinking milk. Well not all babies but I am definitely one of them. Each time mommy feeds me with milk I will start making refuses noises and spit out the milk bottle with some milk. I do not have problem drinking water but only milk. I also start to refuse porridge as well now. I am sure growing up fast.

Daddy is thinking to take me to see a doctor tomorrow, just to see whats my weight not since it has been more than a month since I last visited a doctor. Daddy also wanted to check with doctor on the whizzing sound in my last flu. Wonder what is the cause of it since a doctor said it might be a sign of asthmatic.

But instead of going out, daddy fell asleep and slept through the whole afternoon until dinner time. So I stayed at home the whole day sleeping and making noises. It would have been more fun if daddy had got a Wii today.

In the evening, after mommy took bath for me, one of the scratches I had came off but now it is still a little red.

Last Day in Thailand

Today I will be leaving this incredible city and flying back home with Air Asia. Our flight back was scheduled at 1700hrs and daddy thought to go back to Saphan Lek (Iron Bridge) to get a PSP since the price listed was so much cheaper than in Kuala Lumpur. So he took a taxi himself trying to bargain for a good deal but ended up no buying it because the price displayed was actually for a second hand unit and the price for a new unit was actually about the same or slightly more expensive than in Kuala Lumpur. Daddy then took a taxi back to the hotel since mommy and I was in the hotel waiting for daddy.

The taxi to the airport came to pick us up at 1430hrs as daddy was afraid of the traffic jam as well as the long queue at the immigration counter in the airport but it turn out the traffic was good and there wasn't many people in the immigration counters as well. The plane departed on time and we arrive back in KLIA at 2015hrs.

This has been an interesting trip to Thailand this time. I covered many places and experience the different in this kingdom. Driving from highway to dirt road, cold to hot weather, highland and lowland, windy to straight roads and many more.

Below is the map of the places I have gone in this trip,

Old Bangkok

Since granny thought of buying some fish maw, the best place to get would be Yaowarat (Bangkok's Chinatown) market area. We left the hotel earlier today as daddy wanted to bring granny and grandpa to more place to see. Mommy also wanted to buy some accessories from Soi Sampeng as well which is just next to Yaowarat, or actually connected.

After walking around the market, granny manage to buy 500gm of fish maw in a stall along the market lane since it would definitely more expensive on the main road. Then mommy walk across the road to Soi Sampeng which sells all the accessories for girls. Mommy got me some hair pins which sold which is half the price in a normal shop. But the only setback is the streets in this area are very narrow with 2-strokes motorcycle riding in it. Not sure it was a good idea to bring me here.

After that we took a tuk -tuk to Saphen Lek to get mommy's thai movies then only daddy found out that this is the main computer games centre in Bangkok. There hundreds of stalls just selling X'box, PS, PSP, Wii, games, repair shop, hobby shop and many more competing among each other. This is definitely a place for daddy to visit again in his next trip to Bangkok.

We then thought of going back to the hotel and have a rest before Auntie Anne picking us up for dinner. But instead, the took the taxi to Auntie Anne condo because the road would be very jam to drive back to the hotel. Auntie Anne took us to a very nice seafood restaurant located Bangramad called Kungten. They even have karaoke rooms if you love singing. I am sure this would be in daddy itinenary the next time he is in Bangkok.

After dinner Auntie Anne drove us to Suan Lum market since we did not have a chance to visit Jatujak (Chatuchak or JJ) weekend market.

Wholesale Shopping

Mommy today took me to Platinum Shopping Mall since daddy had a meeting with Red Beat. We left the hotel at 1330hrs since daddy's meeting in Red Beat is scheduled at 1430hrs. Well daddy had a long meeting but I did not manage to walk much since I cried and making a lot of noise since I arrived in Platinum. If you are looking for cheap and trendy cloths, this is one place you should come since it has all the amenities like a shopping mall. Mommy got me many cloths as well and some for Ser Kai, Kit, Bruce and Harriette.

After that, we walked over to Central World which is supposedly a newly renovated shopping centre but there wasn't much people in here. Seems like not many people likes it here. Mommy actually suggested to have BBQ Plaza for dinner but when we got there, does not look very appetizing, instead we had dinner in Pepper Lunch which is not very tasty and not worth the money at all. Mommy also met up with her old classmate, Uncle Peh, from Hat Yai. Uncle Peh is currently a journalist for this magazine writing interesting places inside Thailand.

A Laid Back Day

Since we have been travelling over 1000km in the past 5 days, daddy did not go out until about 1700hrs today. We stayed in the hotel watching news, washing cloths and cooking. I also fell this morning and hurt my nose. It was quite red after the fall. We took a taxi to Paragon since daddy wanted to see if the sales were still on since daddy is looking for a nice leather wallet. We arrived in Paragon around 1730hrs since the traffic was quite heavy due to the rush hour. The sales were still on so daddy got himself a polo shirt from Burberry.

After that we met up with Auntie Anne and Uncle Sam in Khao San Road for Isreali Cuisine. Since it was grandpa's first time trying it. No comment from grandpa so I guess he did not really like it just like mommy never liked it before even though daddy goes there each time he is in Bangkok. After dinner, we all walked to Auntie Anne and Uncle Sam condo which overlook the Chao Phraya river. Unfortunately, it is dark so we could not see much of it. But daddy had a great time trying out Wii. I am sure daddy will get one soon.

Back To Bangkok

We left quite early today as daddy wanted to bring me, granny and grandpa to visit Chok Chai farm and Ayuthaya before heading back into Bangkok. But unfortunately we only manage to visit Chok Chai farm and Outlet Mall in Khao Yai.

As we were heading to Chok Chai farm, daddy saw a huge Outlet Mall just along the highway at Khao Yai. The brand available here is definitely much better than KL Queens Park. Some of the outlets available are, Clarks, Esprit, Lacoste, Naf Naf, Quiksilver and many shops selling export quality brand such as Zara, Mossimo and others. This place is definitely worth stopping by if are travelling from Isaan to Bangkok or the other direction.

Daddy is very disappointed with the steak serves in the restaurant located just in Chok Chai farm. It was an impressive restaurant to look at but the steak were served in hot plate. Daddy ordered a steak which is medium cook but by the time it arrived it was already almost well done, tough and dry. This will be the first and last time daddy will try the steak in this restaurant but daddy is convince to come back again to the farm and do a scheduled tour around the farm.

We arrive at Somerset Lake Point at 1800hrs after we were stuck in a very bad traffic jam since the driver took the wrong turn. Later in the night, Auntie Yam came over to pick us up to visit Auntie Tar new baby girl, Caotang, only 7 days old today.

A Day In Vientiane

Early this morning after having an interesting breakfast the van drove to Nong Khai Lao-Thai Friendship bridge to cross the border to Laos capital Vientiane. We arrived at the border around 1030hrs but great-grandpa, grandpa and auntie Aey were unable to cross since they did not have valid documents with them. It was an easy process going pass the thai border and board a bus to cross the Mekong River into Laos. The bus ride across the Mekong river into Laos territory in no more than 10mins. The Laos immigration wasn't as friendly as there were many years ago when daddy went but it was a straight forward procedure except for an entry fee which needed to pay after the immigration, about THB20. Then mommy manage to get a van to tour around Vientiane for THB800.

The ride into the city took about 20mins and the first stop was Pha Tat Luang (or known as the great stupa in Laos), which was built in the 16th century, the second stop would be Patuxay, a structure built to resemble the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. We were suppose to be back to the border now but mommy was hungry and also she wanted to try some authentic Laotian som tum but instead, the driver took us to a shopping centre which is new and run by Chinese and daddy bought some cartoon dvds for me as well but no food for mommy. It was a communication problem because the driver was actually saying "Talat Jin" (chinese market) but he pronounced it as "Talat Kin" (food market), so we thought there must have all the food which mommy want to try. So we left and drove to "Talat Sao" (morning market) to get some shirt and food before we head back to the border. Mommy finally had her som tum here but daddy did not manage to get his shirt since the price quoted was ver expensive and the driver said that it would be cheaper to buy at the shops at the border. We finally cross back into Thailand, after boarding the THB20 bus and paying another THB20 exit fee at the immigration complex.

The re-entry into Thailand was a little tricky as they only had 1 counter for Thai and Lao (border pass / Thai work permit) and 2 counter for foreign passport. I was lucky because I could follow mommy but daddy, grandpa and granny had to line-up for more than 45mins before they could get and entry stamp back in Thailand under the hot sun.

We finally board the bus again around 1630hrs, which is 4hours later than we agreed to meet up again. We then drove into Nong Khai to visit the 3 country market and bought more shirts and some thai sausages wrap in leaves before leaving for Khon Kean to pick up Great Uncle Sar. We arrived in Nakhon Ratchasima(Korat) at 2100hrs and check-into an apartment.

We will be leaving for Saraburi or actually is Chok Chai farm since daddy heard so much about the steak they serve there.

My Ride To Isaan

It was a crazy day since daddy wrongly calculated the time taken from Sukhothai to Nong Khai via Phitsanulok, Dan Sai and Si Chiangmai. We left at 0700hrs this morning and only manage to arrive in Udon Thani at 2000hrs, a 3 hours journey altogether. We first stopped for breakfast and visit Wat Yai (or also known as Mahathat) in Phitsanulok, then we continue our journey before stopping in Dan Sai Laotian temple, which was supposedly erected by King Naresuan but daddy is very disappointed with Chateau de Loei since he purposely took this route here to see how impressive this winery is. But it turn out not what daddy thought but worst, as a winery, they do not have a single drop of wine to taste, and the girl could not speak much english either. Then daddy thought maybe the shop located at the main road might be better but no, it was worst, the restaurant looks more like a run down coffee house and they will only accept credit for purchases above 1000bt. Daddy is terribly disappointed with this place and he would never suggest anyone to make a pit stop here unless it is a toilet break if not don't bother.

After that we drove to Udon Thani instead of Nang Khai as it was already 1900hrs when we arrive in this city. We manage to find a good and reasonable hotel, Udon Resort which is located about 3km on the main road to Nong Khai. It will be another long day tomorrow when daddy is going to takes us to Vientiane, Laos.

A Day At Sukhothai Ruins

It has always been daddy plan to bring granny and grandpa to visit this beautiful early kingdom of Sukhothai. Daddy woke up fairly early in the morning to check who is Pailyn Hotel which is located only 4km away from the ruins but this hotel isn't that good for the price. The price daddy got when we got there is 1600bt per room but when mommy asked it was only 1100bt per room, a wide different so decided to check out those guesthouses which was full yesterday. The first guesthouse he got to was MG Guesthouse and incredibly they have enough rooms which was clean, new and reasonable.

After that we started our one day tour around the ruins of the old kingdom which territory stretches until the malay peninsula, now Malaysia (where I am from).

This would be the start of a 5 days road trip around Thailand as planned by daddy and mommy. But it started out wasn't too good when the van arrived to pick us up wasn't the van daddy wanted so we had to wait for another van to arrive. Initially we were departing around 0800hrs in the morning but we did not leave until noon so we only arrive in Sukhothai at 1900hrs with a brieft lunch stop at Nakhon Sawan.

It was a very long and tiring journey and we did not get a good hotel since most of the hotel that daddy wanted to stay were full. We ended up staying in Rajhatavee Hotel, not a well maintain place to stay for even a night.

A Day Trip to Burmese Border

Since daddy's first trip to Chedi Sam Ong (Three Pagoda Pass), he has always dream in owning a small piece of farm land and hopefully turn it into a guesthouse when the border actually opens up. So this time daddy took all of us to the border and see if there are any land available. The trip took almost 4hrs from Kanchanaburi with a few stops along the way. We arrived in Chedi Sam Ong at 1130hrs just in time for lunch. After that Great Uncle Lim took us Burma border town, Payathonzu, and show grandpa how the border look like.

After we walked around, we drove out to check out the land and unfortunately there isn't any more land available next to the main road except for a piece of land which is 12rai but cost 1million baht since it was planted with teak wood trees. It's way to expensive since the lands title isn't very legal because of the proximity to the border.

So we drove to Sangkhlaburi to visit Great Auntie before visiting a revered temple and the longest wooden bridge in thailand, the Mon bridge. On the way back daddy this time insisted to have dinner in his favourite restaurant, Chokardon

A Ride To Kanchanaburi

This would be my second trip to Kanchanaburi but the first time for grandpa and grandma. Before we left the hotel, Auntie Muay and her husband came over to visit us. They bought me a nice little gold buddha pendant to keep me save and healthy.

We left the hotel around noon after having my porridge and took 2 taxi with Aunty Aey to Royal Hotel at Sanam Luang before boarding the van(1300bt - whole van) for Kanchanaburi. It was a pleasant ride and took us only just slightly more than 2 hours as we stopped for lunch on the way there. We got to Kanchanaburi around 1700hrs and went straight to check into Ploy Guesthouse.

Later after that Great Uncle Ser Koo come over to picked all of us for dinner in a new restaurant since daddy's favourite restaurant was fully booked. It was a nice restaurant but the food isn't so great and it was very priced for Kanchanaburi standard as well. Anyway it was a nice family gathering along River Kwai.

After dinner, we went to Great Granny's shop a while before going back to the hotel.
