Great Granny's Wake - First Day

We left home around 1100hrs this morning for Ipoh for Great Granny's wake. Great Granny arrived home from Hospital after being kept in the hospital cold room. Anyway we arrived in Ipoh just after 1400hrs. Initially daddy wanted to check into De Hotel in Ipoh Garden but unfortunately, it was fully booked so we ended up in Fair Park Hotel which is located just outside Great Granny's house and where the wake is being held.

We got to Great Granny's house around 1700hrs together with Tai Ku Poh, Yee Ku Poh and Aunty Cyn Cyn since we checked into the same hotel. Everyone has arrived and we were the last to arrive today actually, I met Sam Ku Poh, Sei Ku Poh with Grand Uncle TK, Mm Ku Poh with Grand Uncle Philip, Sei Sook Gong and Sei Kam Poh as well as Uncle I-Hui with Uncle Jeremy. Everyone were earing red, which was suppose to be a no-no in a chinese wake but because Great Granny was over 90 years old, we all family members were told to wear red to celebrate Great Granny's good life. Did some prayers which I refused to follow but instead running around the house.

More prayers and more relative will be arriving tomorrow from Kuala Lumpur while Uncle I-Hui will be going back to Singapore before heading to Lijiang to help out in Uncle I-Shin's hotel, Bivou Lijiang.

Daddy Got Back from Ipoh

Daddy just got back from Ipoh today after a night in Ipoh. We will be going back to Ipoh tomorrow evening to prepare for Great Granny's wake from Friday onwards.

Dadd got a train from KL Sentral to Ipoh which took 2hours and 20mins, a very comfortable ride on the ETS (Electric Train Service) but daddy almost missed his train since he took a komuter from Mid Valley and waited for more than 45mins before the train arrives and another 20mins for the short ride! The first 30mins of the ride, until Rawang, the tracks weren't very good but after, it was a smooth ride and the train was traveling up to 140km/h at certain stretches. The fare was RM35 per adult for Gold Train with 8 stops before reaching Ipoh Train Station.

Daddy drove grandpa back from Ipoh and got home around 1530hrs.

Lunch : Cantonese Fried Rice Noodle (Aunty Anne's Place)
Dinner : Fried Mix Vegetable

Great Granny - Passed Away

It was a sad news when daddy got a call from Grandpa in Ipoh that Great Granny (阿太-aa3 taai3) - Lau Kwai Yong at the age of 93, has just passed away in the hospital at around 11am this morning.

Below are 2 photos mommy took when we visited Great Granny at Fatimah Hospital in Ipoh on Dec 21st, 2011. The doctor initially told us that Great Granny was fine and was ready to be discharged but because Tun (Great Granny's Maid) wasn't ready on how to feed her so grandpa decided to keep Great Granny in the hospital for a few more days.

When we visited Great Granny, her breathing was loud and she was shaking but the doctor told us that it was normal because of old age. Then on Thursday Great Granny had fever and continue to shake until this morning she passed away peacefully!

Wow!

Wow! I have not been actively writing in this blog lately until yesterday when Uncle Chang came over and talk to us about blogging. Well for me, writing this blog was more of a diary experience of how I grow up so at least when I am all grown up, I could read back what I did when I was young! Anyway that is not the point here. Uncle Chang came over and talk to us about making money! and daddy was like "HOW?, we are not doing this to make money but to let Aeryn see what she did when she was young"

Then today, being curious of what Uncle Chang said yesterday, I login and check the details on this blog and to my surprise there are actually you, aunties and uncles leaving comments on my older post? Wow! since I never checked the old post and I do not check my emails either! Guess I would need to be check my emails now more frequently.

Anyway thank you very much for all the comment posted and will try to read them all tonight and delete all the unwanted comments.
