Seventh Day Renovation

Aunty Yam arrived today from Bangkok and will be staying with us for the next 4 days before flying back this Saturday.

This morning mommy made appointment to meet up with a reality agent to view another lot at Sungai Long, this unit was only RM600.00 quite well kept by the previous tenant. Anyway daddy was more interested in the new shoplot as well as Mahkota Cheras since that is going to be the main centre with the new Aeon complex.

Anyway, after seeing the shoplot we drove to daddy's office before driving to the airport to pick Aunty Yam up. Aunty Yam flight from Bangkok was scheduled to arrive in KLIA at 1415 but we waited for Aunty Yam for almost 45mins. We then drove straight to Genting Highlands since Aunty Yam wanted to have a look at the casino. The drive up was smooth without much traffic andwe arrived up on the hill at 1730hrs and went directly to the Outdoor Theme Park, since mommy and Aunty Yam wanted to play the Cock Screw roller coaster and Space Shot. The entrance fee for unlimited ride was RM59 for Adults and Rm41.00 which was expensive since we only going to be in the park for less then 2hours. Anyway we had a great fun, I got to play the Double Deck Carousel, Matahari Ferris Wheel, Busy Bugs at Kiddie Rides and a boat ride at the Dinosaurland. Then we met up with Uncle Vincent and Aunty Catherine for dinner at the Coffee Terrace before watching Dazzle : A Mystifying Journey featuring, Ernesto Planas, Jerome Murat, The Duo Presto (Quick- Change) and Sonny Fontana.

During dinner, daddy also took a photo of a worm inside an edamame taken from the Japanese Section @ Coffee Terrace at Genting Hotel. Click here for photo.

We got back home just after before 0100hrs.

Lunch : Mixed Rice with Soup

Sixth Day Renovation

Daddy got a surprise this morning when the contractor called daddy to informed daddy that the 1st floor rear bathroom "collapse"! It wasn't collapse but there was quite a bad crack on the floor and they were asking if I wanted to remove and change whole concrete, which will definitely cost a bomb. Anyway daddy suggested to add a few more layer of water proofing instead, which might do the job, hopefully?.

Anyway Tracy's daddy came over to do up the water pipes and daddy got a new stop cock or globe valve at Jalan Ipoh since we are doing a whole new piping for the rear toilet. Hopefully we would be able to finish the job within the next few days so we can start the water proofing and then tiling.

All floor parquet has been removed as well as the metal railings on the stairs. Hopefully we would be able to get the hard wood contractor in soon after the water proofing. The glass guy did not turn up again today and daddy is thinking if he can do it.

Later in the evening daddy got home and picked me and mommy up to check out some new shoplot since mommy decided to open a new centre teaching clay works for children above 4yrs old. The rental for 1st floor around Sg. Long and Bandar Mahkota is Rm650 - Rm1000 depending on location. After checking out the shoplots we drove back home, and the contractor forgot to turn off the water pipe at the top floor toilet and water was dripping down onto the ground floor at the entrance, luckily, mommy realised that the contractor forgot to turn off the water pipe, if not the whole ground floor would have been badly flooded!

Fifth Day Renovation

Finally today they manage to remove all the parquet on the first floor as well as the stairs, and the workers are in the midst of checking the bathroom flooring for leakage, which daddy do not understand why since we are already doing water proofing anyway. Maybe the contractor is trying to identify the leakage just above the main door on the ground floor.

In the morning daddy also met up with Aunty Tracy's daddy, Uncle Loh, who does plumbing, and we have decided to re-lay a whole new set of pipes for the bathroom at the back with a new water heater as well for both bathroom at the back and upstairs rear bathroom. Guess daddy would need to shop for a new water heater as well now. Tomorrow Uncle Loh will be coming over to hack the wall to add in new piping for the master bedroom washroom before doing the other toilets.

In the afternoon, daddy drove to purchase 65pcs of Ipoh marble with pinkish at RM4.50 per piece from Eurostone @ Jalan Ipoh, but the installation per piece is still RM15 which is incredibly high! Daddy will be asking the contractor for a slight discount for the marble installation. Daddy now face a problem with the toilet bowl now as, the distance from the wall to the outlet center is 22", which currently there isn't any toilet bowl with this lenght. There are 2 brands which daddy is thinking, either Toto or Johnson Suisse

Daddy also just found out that the room in Genting this Wednesday cost RM325 per night so, daddy decided not to stay a night so we will be driving back after going up to Genting immediately after Yam arrive

Fourth Day Renovation

Today is the forth day, but is an off day for the workers and nothing was done today since yesteday but when we went to the house in the afternoon we realise that there worker did spray some water on the stairs, which they hope it will be easily remove when they return tomorrow. Daddy wanted to visit Uncle Dan's baby todaybut unfortunately we were unable to do so because Uncle Dan had to work and our plan changed.

We went to the first glass shop just outside the house to enquire about the stairs railing and this shop knew what daddy wanted and quoted daddy RM200 per feet run for 2ft high and 12mm thick, which daddy thought it was towards the highside since we had to make more than 24ft in lenght. After that daddy drove to Kajang Prima to get some cash from HSBC, when we found another glass shop which can so it for only RM120 per feet run (excluding the stud to hold the glass), the price different is almost RM100 per feet run for 2½ft high and 12mm thickness, we could save up to RM2000 if the second shop gave the correct price. Anyway will make an appointment for the second shop to give a more accurate quotation. Daddy will still need to find some nicer glass connectors if possible. Another photo of the glass daddy is going to do.

Since daddy and mommy haven't had their lunch, and were lost of idea what to eat, daddy thought of driving to USJ to visit Aunty Ou since Uncle Raymond told daddy once that were is a good thai restaurant in Taipan USJ. Unfortunately, Aunty Ou and Uncle Raymond was busy so we decided to eat around Seri Kembangan, and it was the worst restaurant we had, even we were really hungry. It was a RM2 vegetarian restaurant, daddy had a bowl of curry noodle which tasted like a clear soup noodle, while mommy had mixed rice with ladies fingers, beancurd and petai topping. The ladies fingers was too old, the beancurd was tasteless but luckily the petai tasted pretty alright. Daddy and Mommy did not manage to finish the food!

After that I suggested we go to SunwayPyramid, my favourite shopping mall, but was warn by mommy that I cannot request for anything. I had a good time there since I participated at Harveys Norman 6th Anniversary Celebration, unfrtunately daddy was actually buying a new camera when I went on stage. We bought a new Panasonic DMC-FS42 camera for RM499 since Uncle Edmund borrowed our SLR for his holiday in Morocco. This is quite a simple camera with face recognition and it was light, I even took some photos with it.

Third Day Renovation

We left early this morning to meet up with Uncle Ricky and Aunty Emily to discuss about Cosway in Thailand since Uncle Ricky is still trying to penetrate the Thai market with mommy's help. We were suppose to go to Jalan Ipoh to get some bathroom fittings for the renovation but because daddy forgot to bring the cheque book to pay for the flooring deposit, daddy had to drive back home to pick up the cheque book. Since we were already back, daddy thought of getting a quotation for the staircase railing but instead daddy hit a dead end when the stainless steel shop told daddy this has nothing to do with them but actually it is done by the glass shop, daddy was stunned. Before driving to RvWoods at Sri Hartamas to pay a 40% deposit for the hard wood flooring we stopped by at home to see what is the progress so far, currently, the parquet at all rooms has been removed and all the workers are cleaning the walls in the toilet to lay a layer of cement. Seems like it took much longer than expected due to the water problem we had on the first day.

After paying the deposit at RvWoods at Sri Hartamas, we drove directly to Atria Shopping for the Corelle, Corning Ware and Pyrex warehouse sales since daddy wanted to get a few other balance which we did not get during the last warehouse sale. Luckily this time they had a full range of the product we were looking for, except this time around not many things was being sold. We also got 2 set of baby playmate for Uncle Dan, which was born early this morning (0318hrs) and Auntie Kwan baby, to be born sometime around Feb.

Since we were around this area, daddy suggested to take a drive to 1 Utama since it has been sometime since we went to 1 Utama. Hope we can get a camera soon before AuntyYam arriving this coming Wednesday.

Lunch : Fish Ball Noodle
Dinner : Chicken Terriyaki at Pasta Zanmai

Second Day Renovation

Since yesterday incident, today the contractor decided not to use water to remove the parquet instead of knocking it out by hand slowly and did not have any surprises today. We had an additional worker today removing the parquet. The workers manage to remove the master room and they are starting on both the rear rooms. Both tiling on both toilet has been removed as well and ready to install the new tiles on the wall once daddy get it from the shops.

They have also removed the sinks and toilet bowl as well. So daddy would need to start shopping for toilet bowls and sinks for the toilets. Tomorrow daddy will call the contractor and ask him for the correct measurement for the wall to buy the tiles. Hopefully tomorrow the contractor would be able to remove all the parquet from the floor.

In the evening when daddy got back, we went to a glass shop to enquire about a glass stairs railing but were refered to a stainless steel specialist instead. Daddy will call them tomorrow to enquire on prices. Below is something daddy would like to do,

Lunch : Noodle with Mushroom Fish Ball Soup
Dinner : Rice with Fried Broccoli and Prawns

First Day Renovation

Finally, we started renovating the house today but started off with a bad start when the water use to remove the parquet flooring upstairs sipped over to the neighbour house and flooded the guest room on the ground floor. It was so bad that the paint in the neighbour's wall started to look like money bag. It was lucky that our neighbour discovered it when they got home if not the damage would have been much worst. Anyway to rectify this problem and to prevent it from happening again in future daddy decided to put a layer of water proofing along the wall with the neighbour.

Anyway, my bathroom tiles has been removed totally and tomorrow they will continue removing the table top tiles as well as the parquet. Hopefully the water today will help to remove the parquet flooring.

Daddy has also confirmed the flooring for upstairs with RvWoods with the following wood,
Family Room (222sq. ft)
- Burmese Teak T&G - 12mm(T)x95mm(W)x300mm–1500mm(L)
All Rooms (629 sq. ft)
- Java Teak T&G - 12mm(T)x50mm(W)x200mm–300mm(L)
Stairs
- Burmese Teak Stepboard - 25mm(T)x300mm(W)x4ft(L)

We still have a problem as mommy and daddy has not decided on the stairs hand railing design.

Tomorrow Auntie Tracy's father was supposed to come over to check the water piping but because unfortunately he is unable to do so because he is tight up with some other project. Hopefully we would be able to remove all the tiles and parquet by end of this week.

First Day At School

Today I attended the orientation day at my new kindy, Kinder Kids, surprisingly, I was fine along without mommy and daddy around. I arrive at the kindergarten just before 0845hrs and was there until noon before mommy coming to get me. Actually mommy come and go when I was attending my classes.

Daddy and mommy left the kindergarten just as the class was about to start, while some other daddy and mommy was around still. Around 0930hrs, it was outdoor activity time and I had balls, slide, swing and could play with other children as well. Then it was break time around 0945hrs, when I walked back to the classroom myself, I took my shoe off, and told the teacher I needed to go to the bathroom to wash my hands as well. The teacher was even surprised and told mommy what I did so far. I was the only one today which did not cry without daddy or mommy around. Around 1100hrs, mommy come to pick me up but instead I was only starting my music class and mommy thought the music class wasn't very good as the teacher started "Ring Around The Rosie" without me after I refuses to get up, and also the teacher was a little to fierce towards me when I walked across to get the sand "block", as the teacher pointed and ask me to go back to my position! Please teacher it is my first day. Low-Res video taken on mommy's Nokia 6610.

As daddy was driving me back home, I fell asleep and woke up around 1400hrs before falling asleep again around 2130hrs.

It was an interesting day for me and hope that I will not make too much fuss tomorrow at school.
Lunch : Sausage and White Bread

Contractors And Contractors

It was like a day just speaking to different contractors today. Started this morning when the first person, from Chow Choon Corporation, called mommy asking to visit the house for the flooring quote. They are selling KronoTex laminated flooring which is about Rm6.00 p/s ft with a 12 years warranty, anyway will need to read more about this brand.

Because Uncle Sani told daddy that Uncle Amin also does laminated flooring, so we met up with Uncle Amin and partner around 1730hrs today for a quote, they are selling Floor Depot product as well as Inovar, which supposingly comes from the same factory which manufacture Pergo with a 15 years manufacturing warranty. The total estimated cost for the step landing and whole floor upstairs came to about RM9,000.00! Hopefully Uncle Amin can give us a little more discount on the flooring.

Later we met up with another contractor for the balcony extension, and the estimated price for the bedroom and bathroom extension came up to around RM9,000.00 as well. Anyway a more detail quotation will be fax to daddy next week. Anyway I doubt now the house would be ready to move in even by December.

Tomorrow daddy will be meeting up with another flooring contractor in the evening and another person on Saturday noon. Hopefully we can get someone honest to do up the house.

Hepatitis A - 2nd Jab

It has been busy for the past few weeks since daddy and mommy was busy trying to get contractors to renovate the house in Sungai Long. We made a few appointments over the next few days to get quotations and hopefully they could start work as soon as possible since, Aunty Yam will be coming to visit us on Dec 9th for 4 days and hopefully she will be the first guest in my new house.

In the evening, daddy come back early to take me to visit Dr. Khoo for my second Hepatitis A vaccination. But I took everyone by surprise that I did not make a single noise when Dr. Khoo gave me the injection! Immediately after getting the injection, I walked to daddy and asked to have my hands wash, well for the fun of it. After leaving the clinic, mommy ask me if it was painful and I said yes!. Mommy told me it wasn't pain, just like an ant bite, but instead, I told mommy my left thigh pain because of the injection!. Even after getting the injection, I said good bye to doctor as I was walking out of the room.

And it was also my second trip to a mamak shop! Since daddy and mommy wanted to have dinner. I had roti tisu!

I am currently,
1) Weight - 12.9kg (up by 1kg)
2) Lenght - 92cm (up by 6cm)

Been Awhile

Its been awhile since I last updated my blog. For the past 2 weeks I have not been doing much actually except staying at home waiting for daddy to collect the new house keys, which was suppose to be collected last week on Nov 16th, 2009 but the seller needed an additional of 1 week to move the things in the house, so they had requested for an additional week to hand over the keys to us. Anyway daddy might be going over to pick up the keys on Wednesday evening so we can arrange contractors to view the house.

I have also been going to Berjaya Time Square frequently lately as we have ran out to places to walk around and this mall is actually not as bad as daddy thought it will be. There are now a lot more shops open and lots of variety to shops, from sports to cloths to even fish spas! I am also trilled with a new shop just opened recently, selling clay for kids and mommy is interested in taking up the license to open a shop around Mahkota Cheras or Sg. Long. The intresting part of this clay is that it can be reuse after it is harden. I would then be able to play with it all the time.

My fever did not get any better today. It maintain an average of 38°C with a high of 38.6°C just before I was going to sleep but at least I drunk the medicine now after daddy and mommy gave me sweet after taking the medicine.

Daddy wanted to take me to see Dr. Khoo yesterday morning but my fever started reducing so daddy thought I was getting better but it starts again just after dark! Daddy will monitor me another to see how is it but it seems I am not getting any better since I saw the doctor on Saturday.

Daddy did consult Uncle Edmund, who is also a doctor on my fever and Uncle Edmund said it might be URTI (Upper Respiratory Tract Infections) which is normal for infant and toddler to develope an immunity. Hopefully nothing serious.

Flying Kite

I got better in the morning when I woke up but I it turn bad at night when I was going to sleep. In the morning, daddy and me send mommy to get her teeth fix at Chua And Wan Dental Clinic, while daddy drove me back to feed me with some porridge. Then in the afternoon, daddy drove me out to look for kites since daddy promise me to buy me one if I finish my medication, but I fell asleep just after the first stop so daddy drove me back home to sleep.

I woke up again around 1730hrs, and started asking daddy for kite! I did not forget about the kite that daddy promised earlier even when daddy was sleeping. I kept waking daddy up and daddy had to drive me out to look for kite. Initially daddy thought of driving to Kepong but thought it would be too far to go just to get a kite, so daddy suggested Putrajaya, without any luck, daddy drove on to Bangi via the Putrajaya, and finally we saw people flying kite at Taman Tasik Cempaka.

Mommy bought me a multi-colour, which resemble the rainbow flags for RM15.00. Got some photos taken trying to fly the kite, without any luck. When I got home after dinner, my fever got worst, it went up to almost 39°C. Mommy and Daddy had to force the paracetamol into me. If my fever doesn't drop, daddy would need to take me to see Dr. Khoo.

Hope I will get better tomorrow.

I am not sure if we were lucky that we arrived late or unlucky, click here to read an article about the 45mins Thunderbirds show yesterday, attracting about 150,000 people and a massive traffic jam leading to the airbase! The birds will be appearing over Don Muang, Bangkok on Oct 10th, 2009.

Thunderbirds with 39.3°C/104°F

I started off a great day but ended being terribly sick at night.

I woke up this morning, and starting waking daddy up as well but daddy refuses to get up since he got back quite last night after meeting up with Uncle Khee Wai, Uncle Sum Hor, Uncle Toh Teck and Uncle Chee Leong at Sungai Long. Daddy only woke up at 1130hrs and ask grandpa if grandpa wanted to watch the Thunderbirds at Subang RMAF base. We left home around 1145hrs for lunch before we got stuck in a terrible jam from Saujana Club flyover all the way to the RMAF Kampung Subang entrance, which took a total of an hour. By the time we arrived, the air show was already over but we still manage to get a glimpse of the static F-16 Thunderbirds planes on the tarmac. Below are some of the photos taken with the birds.

Driving out from the base was also a problem as everyone was leaving the base the same time. Anyway it only took us around 40mins to get to Sunway Pyramid after leaving the base. When mommy got off the car at Sunway Pyramid, mommy notice that daddy's shorts has a torn hole at back of daddy's short! So we immediately went upstairs to get a new pair of bargain shorts from F.O.S. before heading to SEn to check out Electrolux EWF8576 Washer which is cheaper than HomeDec, and Harvey Norman was only about RM50.00 more for a brand new set. So daddy decided not to buy from HomeDec but might still go to HomeDec to get the Panasonic 50" Plasma going for RM4558 with a free HD Camcorder.

From Sunway we drove to Mid Valley since daddy wanted to make sure on the pricing in Best as well. Anyway we got a slightly better price in Harvey Norman at Mid Valley compared to Harvey Norman in Sunway Pyramid. After dinner at Crystal Jade daddy thought of asking the price of the Toshiba fridge near The Mines but just as daddy about to turn into the main road leading to The Mines, I vomitted in the car! and daddy and mommy thought I might have ate too much and we drove home immediately since I had vomit all over my shirt.

After mommy bath me, I started shivering and my palm turned purple! Mommy got shocked so daddy took me to the KPJ Hospital since this was my first time vomiting solids after a meal. The service at KPJ Hospital wasn't very good, only 1 GP was around, and the first medical officer attended to me was obviously a trainee! When I vomitted at daddy, the officer just sat there and and ask mommy to get tissue from the emergency room! Anyway Dr. Mahesvaralu Naidu told daddy that I vomited due to a throat infection and a 39.3°C/104°F fever! I was given 3 medication,
1) Axcel Paracetamol-250 (for fever)
2) Promethazine (for vomiting)
3) Augmentin 228mg/5ml (antibiotic - sore throat)

Well daddy is not very sure about giving antibiotics to me! but the doctor said it was alright to prescribed it to a newborn baby. Anyway I got better when I got home, started walking, talking and laughing! Hopefully I will get better tomorrow
